SINOPSIS

35 mm. Color
SYNOPSIS
A games board, where the stakes are love and the end of the world.
A huge wave is about to destroy the city. Many people leave in panic, only a few remain in the lonely streets. Among them are SEBASTIAN, a skeptical and irresolute young loner; ANA, a woman who seeks in others the passion she can’t live; and an apocalyptic GIRL. They turn the city into a games board where the stakes are love and the end of the world.
NOTA DE LAS DIRECTORAS
“¿Jugamos?”
NOTA DE LAS DIRECTORAS/ DIRECTORS STATEMENT
…If you throw stones at the sea, it will get angry.
It’s the end of the millennium. Back to ancient fears. In our story, an apocalyptic wave. It’s time for changes and decisions: to get back the loved one, although it may be useless, or make big sacrifices to hinder “the end of the world”.
Our characters choose the game to save themselves, and, in order not to loose, they must keep on playing. At Midnight and a Half proposes a fragmented path, where the story falls in contradictions and the only remaining way is to follow the chain of our emotions…”
Shall we play?”

NOTAS PRENSA
“Sexy performers, a sure helming hand and infectious music could allow this magically realistic Latin creation to head north, with vid interest assured at the very least…
Pic’s elliptical, enigmatic style isn’t for auds who like their packages to have neat right angles, but the helming, lensing and editing are reassuringly tight, leading to a finish that answers most of the questions raised, while leaving a few bigger ones open.” Variety. 31 de Julio, 2000.
“This existentialist film might be a film about expectations, but those expectations would belong to the viewer and not the characters… and it might be easier to compare this film to Jim Jarmusch’s Stranger than Paradise or any of Godard films, but especially Forever Mozart.” Seattle Weekly. 11. Mayo, 2000.
Brecha. Uruguay. 23 de Junio, 2000.
“One of the best of the Chicago Latino Film Festival” Chicago Tribune. 13 de abril, 2000.
“Une petite perle fantastique venue d’ Amerique latine” Le Journal, Mons, Belgica. 25 feb, 2000
“The picture is an interesting one that requires the audience to exercise their gray matter a little” Mainichi Daily News, Tokyo. 1 de nov, 2000.
“A fotografía do film e muda conforme as transformacoes dos presonagens. No início, as cores fortes sao predominantes. 27, oct, 2000.
